Allen and Aakash Modules vs 37-Year PYQs: What to Skip and What to Solve

How to filter Allen and Aakash coaching modules for NEET 2027. Which exercises to solve, which legacy questions to skip, and how to combine them with PYQs.

Direct Answer • The Fix

Walk into any student room in Kota's Landmark City or Indra Vihar, and you will see the same towering stack: green Allen Leader modules or yellow Aakash packages, sitting right next to an MTG 37-Year PYQ book.

For decades, coaching modules have been treated like sacred scripture. Seniors tell you: "If you solve every single question in the module, nobody can stop your selection."

So a dropper opens a chapter like Rotational Motion or Plant Kingdom. The module has four separate exercises spanning 220 questions. The student starts from Question 1 of Exercise 1 and vows to solve everything sequentially.

Ten days later, they are still on page 42. They have missed two classroom lecture deadlines, their physics homework is piling up, and they are crying over an obscure multi-body collision problem that hasn't appeared in a medical entrance exam since 2006.

Teachers rarely discuss the internal architecture of coaching modules from the podium:

The Module Architecture: The Good, The Bad, and The Obsolete

Coaching modules are written to serve two conflicting audiences:

  1. Average students who need a 600-mark baseline for a government medical seat.
  2. Top-batch students who are being groomed for single-digit AIR ranks and Olympiads.

Because institutes must cater to both, their exercises are structured in layers:

1. Exercise 1 (NCERT Application & Basics) — MUST SOLVE

This is the core foundation. It takes NCERT lines and turns them into clean, direct single-concept questions. Every dropper must solve 100% of Exercise 1. It builds the calculation reflexes and formula recall you need for the compulsory 180-question NEET paper.

2. Exercise 2 (Advanced / Multi-Concept) — SELECTIVE SOLVE

These questions combine two or three concepts — for example, combining Faraday's law of induction with Kinematics. If you are scoring 580+ in mocks and aiming for 660+, solve 50% of these problems. If your mock score is currently under 520, attempting Exercise 2 will only induce panic and waste precious hours.

3. Exercise 3 & 4 (Past AIPMT & Legacy Questions) — THE DROPPER TRAP

This is where droppers leak dozens of study hours. Modules frequently carry questions from 2004–2012 when the exam was conducted by CBSE under a completely different, broader syllabus.

Solving questions on Cockroach reproductive systems, Earthworm clitellum details, or advanced P-Block industrial metallurgy compounds is an absolute waste of time in NEET 2027. NMC has deleted these topics, yet modules keep reprinting them to justify their page counts.

Modules vs 39-Year PYQs: Which One Takes Priority?

If you ever face a time crunch between completing module exercises and solving past year questions, authentic NEET PYQs must always win.

Two simple facts explain why past questions always take precedence:

  • NTA Question DNA: NTA paper setters do not copy coaching module problems. They refer directly to NCERT textbooks and past NEET papers.
  • Repetition of Themes: Over 70% of numericals in NEET Physics and Chemistry are direct variants of questions asked between 2016 and 2026. The numbers change, but the boundary conditions remain identical.

The Lean Execution Rule for Droppers

To finish your syllabus before January without burning out, follow this strict filter:

  1. Solve Module Exercise 1 Only: Do not touch Exercise 3 or 4 until you have mastered the basics.
  2. Solve 39-Year Verified PYQs: Use an authentic question source that strips out deleted chapters.
  3. Capture Traps in an Error System: When you miss a question in Exercise 1, log it immediately into an active error tracker like Learnzy instead of blindly re-reading the whole chapter.
